Shakespeare wrote, “Beware the Ides of March,” and we like to think he was referring to the lineup of music and events we have here at Orbit 19 this month. Because, you need to watch out: if you’re not careful, you may just explode from all of the excitement we have in store. As always, we have a diverse and eclectic lineup of shows to go along with our weekly events, and March may be the best yet. And remember, as usual, all shows are 21+up, 9pm – 2am, and no cover!

Friday, March 8 -

We could not be more excited to have local star Geri X with us at Orbit 19! It’s her first time here, and it is sure to be an amazing show! From her website:

“Bulgarian-born Geri X is a composer, a musician and a singer hard to put a label on. Fans and critics spotted it from the moment she broke onto theTampa Bay Music Scene: Geri is an artist with a singular sound you have not heard before. One can see it in the way she confidently plays her Babicz guitar, eyes half open and soul pouring out with a rich, crisp and mesmerizing voice.

What started with a classical training in piano, guitar and voice, evolving out of a broad and eclectic blend of influences, has become wonderfully her own. In the process of sharing her songs, Geri bares her soul to ease the audience’s emotions. It is the strength of the voice and the charge to each word that draws them to a halt. Geri X is a poet, rebel, and a singer with a voice that is demanding to be heard. She carries the intensity of a Mike Tyson punch with the serene beauty of one of the best female vocalists of this era (L.A. Times)

She has received countless accolades for her work, including Creative Loafing’s Best Singer Songwriter for 2 years in a row, as well as playing Summerfest and Steel Bridge Song Festival in the last few years.

Aside from being a workaholic and an alluring performer, often carrying out few shows in a day, Geri is a prolific songwriter. This is a fundamental quality, which combined with her work ethic and the gift of sharing make her a true artist: one you can connect to.

Whether with a full band or on stage with just a guitar, she is simply captivating. One only needs to experience it.”

So what are you waiting for? Get in here and see this!!!

Sunday, March 17 -

O boy! You must have a little luck o’ the Irish, because you certainly lucked into an amazing lineup for St. patty’s Day here at Orbit 19!

Johnny Cakes and the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypto will be here bringing their unique mix of calypso, punk, ska, reggae, tropical, rock and much more all marmaladed together featuring steel drums and a massive horn section.

Also appearing is Stop The Presses who will also bring a ska/punk flair to the whole night. Toss in some of our favorite DJs and you’ve got yourself a rockin’ St. patty’s Day party!

Just follow the rainbow to Orbit 19!

Friday March 22 -

Guess who’s back? That’s right – one of our favorite acts here at Orbit 19, The Wooly Bushmen - playing rousing frat rock, rollicking garage meets punkabilly songs. A fantastic mix of guitar-driven songs that invoke a 50s/60s vibe, all the while punctuated by incredible vintage organ work. They always put on an incredible show full of hijinx and fantastic musical acrobatics.

Joining them will be Saganaki Bomb Squad from right here in the Tampa area. A gentle mix of ska, punk, and good times, they will be a perfect compliment to the whole night.

Friday, March 29 -

besides it being this humble little blog writer’s birthday, this date is awesome for another reason : The Mother Machine is back!

The Mother Machine is self-described as ” an experimental, dreamy, psychedelic, rock band out of Orlando, Florida. The Mother Machine blends visual art with heavy melodic sonic stimulation…”

Joining them, as he often does, is Joe Walsh, who provides an intense, exciting visual light show during the performance. The “Liquid Light Show” is a unique visual experience that blends psychedelic imagery and movement. It really makes the show fantastic.

Also appearing is Florida Night Heat. Check out their sound at bandcamp.com here.

At Orbit 19 Lounge, March may come in like a lion, but it’s also going out with a BLAM! Because we’ve got the shot in the arm that your social life needs: amazing music and events, incredible atmosphere, a friendly and knowledgeable staff, and the best drinks in the area. So march on in, grab a seat at the bar, and enjoy the best kept secret in Tampa Bay, Orbit 19 Lounge.

Sure February is the shortest month of the year; that’s why we’ve made sure to jam pack it with a amazing lineup of shows.

Check out what we have lined up:

Thursday, Feb. 14th-

Awwwwwwwww love is in the air! That’s right you sappy lovebirds, come celebrate the Hallmark Company’s greatest achievement right here with us!

Sure, we know it’s a made-up, corporate holiday designed to boost sales in the flower, chocolate, and greeting card industries. So what? Who doesn’t want, and frankly, NEED a little lovin’ sometimes? And we’re always looking for an excuse to throw another one of those kickass parties that we’re known for.

First, we are proud to have Miss Vita Devoid here with us again and her troupe of Vaudevillains, an exciting group of young ladies skilled in the art of burlesque.. There’ll be tassles and classic pin-up beauties gracing our stage teasing and titillating, getting all the lovebirds prepared for the night’s festivities.

Providing the music is Izzy & The Catastrophics, who “stitch together rock n’ roll, swing, surf, honky-tonk, and bebop. Izzy and the Catastrophics are a profoundly exciting and challenging group. Often compared to rockabilly greats of the past, Izzy and his boys are carrying the tradition into the 21st century with flair and frenzy.”

Then, the highlight of the night will be our second annual Miss Orbit 19 Pin-Up Girl Contest where we crown our spokesmodel and representative for the lounge! Contestants must register prior to the competition and meet all eligibility requirements, which in addition to some technical stuff means that the #1 requirement is that you are as badass as Orbit 19 itself. The winner will represent Orbit 19 at all special events, and will win an assortment of prizes. So make sure you get there early and check out all the contestants and make your voice heard for who you think should be the next Miss Orbit 19!

Friday, Feb. 18th -

We are so excited to have Paleface with us here at Orbit 19. “Paleface is an American musician and artist currently on tour as high-energy indie-folk three piece band featuring darlin Mo Samalot (drums, back-vocals), and Soren Mattson (electric guitar, harmonies) in support of his Ramseur Records follow up One Big Party. Paleface was schooled musically by friend Daniel Johnston and soon discovered by the legendary Danny Fields (The Stooges, The Ramones, MC5) at an NYC open mic. He has since released over a dozen records including two major label releases, and he’s collaborated and performed on three albums by The Avett Brothers. Paleface has influenced and inspired a wide range of musical acts, from electropopsters YACHT, to Grammy Award recipients Kimya Dawson (The Moldy Peaches / Juno), and Beck who calls Paleface “a big influence on my early work” on Annie Leibovitz’s book American Music. At the moment, Paleface is in the process of writing a new album to record with his band later in the year, and in the meantime he’s just self-released Multibean Bootleg Vol.3, a collection of raw demos, live performances and outtakes.”

This is going to be an incredible show that you do not want to miss. Also appearing is Florida’s Beartoe.

Friday, Feb. 28th -

The best way to finish off the month is to welcome back one of our favorite acts. Orbit 19 favorites The Proper Crooks are back again bringing their unique blend of alternative/post-punk-meets-jazz sensibilities. Each and every time they grace our lounge they put on an incredible live show, and this night should be no exception. They always pack the house and bring together all the classic elements of a vintage rock-n-roll show, complete in almost every way.

A little bit of love, a little bit of catastrophe, and a little leather. Sounds like a winner of a month!

Be sure to stop in during the week for one of our weekly events as well, whether it be Open Mic Monday with Stick Martin or Vintage Youth on Thursdays with VJ Jason Barco.

And as always, we have the best atmosphere, friendliest staff, and most amazing cocktails anywhere! Come on in and see for yourself!

It’s the most wonderful time of year at Orbit 19! This holiday season, we bring you gifts of fun, frivolity, and incredible live music and shows! We know you can’t wait, so here’s a look at what Santa is bringing all you boys and girls this year:

Friday, December 2

We’re starting December (and possibly the last month of our existence – aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhh!!!) with a bang! Wait. Poor word choice. Ummm… let’s just say it’s gonna be hella fun. Live on our stage will be Orbit 19 favorites The Proper Crooks and The Red Rock-Its.

The Proper Crooks are back again bringing their unique blend of alternative/post-punk-meets-jazz sensibilities. Each and every time they grace our lounge they put on an incredible live show, and this night should be no exception. They always pack the house and bring together all the classic elements of a vintage rock-n-roll show, complete in almost every way.

And they’ll be playing along with The Red Rock/Its, a blues/rock/folk duo from Spring Hill. Self described as, “pulsating guitar playing and pounding backbeats. The drumming and guitar playing kept simple to drive home the melody of the song through tasteful lyrics and catchy turnarounds.” Sounds good to us! We can’t wait to hear it. This is going to be an incredible night of music that you do not want to miss!

Friday, December 14

They’re baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaack…

No need to share the bill on this one; these guys can hold down the whole night all by themselves – The Stick Martin Show. You’ve seen him here at Orbit 19 every Monday night, hosting one of the Bay area’s most entertaining and hip Open Mic nights, but this time, Stick Martin brings the rest of the guys along with him for the wildly-entertaining Stick Martin Show. As a recurring winner of Creative Loafing’s Reader’s Poll for “Best Hip Hop Act” and “Best Local Singer/Songwriter”, The SMS infuse every performance with a perfect balance of “party –rocking hip-hop and dance tracks with alternative, pop and a Ween-like sense of prankishness.” Stick Martin describes it as, “Lots of hip-hop, a bit of punk, bar rock and some country stomp.” Whatever it is, we always want it here at Orbit 19. Come check them out.

Friday, December 21

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHH!!! WE’RE ALL GONNA DIE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well, at least according to a bunch of ancient people who made a calendar or schedule or a spreadsheet or something. I don’t know. I don’t watch sports. Anyway, if they were right, and the world does end tomorrow, there’s no place I’d rather be than right here at Orbit 19. DJ D-Volv will be spinning, and the Black Honkeys will be here!

You’ve come to expect nothing less than the very best from resident DJ D-VOLV on Saturday nights, spinning underground hip-hop and mash-up, and the trend continues. But, D-Volv won’t be going it alone on HorrorTrash weekend. Local favorites The BLACK HONKEYS stop in and share their mix of soul, funk, blues and rock ‘n’ roll. After more than a decade, the band still brings the funk and the energy reminiscent of such acts as Ohio Players, Rolling Stones, Temptations, J. Geils Band and the Red Hot Chili Peppers. With a combination like D-Volv and The Honkeys, there’s sure to be enough quality music to go around.

So come on in, have a few drinks, and we’re gonna party like there’s no tomorrow – literally!

Monday, December 24

‘Tis the Night Before Christmas, and all through Orbit 19,

patrons are looking to get merry at the place to be seen.

With karaoke on the menu, spirits will be bright,

It will be a party for all, and for all a great night.

Monday, December 31

As the leaves begin to turn, and the air gets a slight chill to it, November descends on us at Orbit 19. It is the time of year to reap the harvest and be thankful for what we have sown. And it is no surprise that once again we have harvested a delicious lineup of events for which we can all be thankful.
In addition to our mainstay events, like the notorious DJ D-Volv every Saturday night or Retro-Mod Thursdays, we’ve carved out another piping-hot lineup of music for you this month. Check out the cornucopia of talent we have gathered this month:

Friday, November 16

On this Friday, Orbit 19 is proud to present two incredible music acts: The Mother Machine and Sons of Hippies.

Florida’s own The Mother Machine is self-described as ” an experimental, dreamy, psychedelic, rock band out of Orlando, Florida.

Also appearing is Sons Of Hippies. Creative Loafing writes, “Up from the ashes of Sarasota’s Nous Rapport came Sons of Hippies, who have carved out a gaping niche in Tampa Bay… They also put out this year’s most original release, Warriors of the Light, which culls from influences ranging from MGMT to Siouxsie and the Banshees to PJ Harvey and Radiohead.”

This is a must-see event.

Wednesday, November 21

On the last Thursday of November, family and friends gather around the table, share stories of what we are thankful for, and fill our bellies. The night before, however, is a different story. Turkey, mashed potatoes and stuffing are at their best when they’ve soaked up some of the fun from the night before. On Thanksgiving Eve, the soundtrack to the fun is provided by the Cadillac Bombers and The Wooly Bushmen.

The Cadillac Bombers are back! Check them out:

Cadillac Bombers

Joining them on this evening is The Wooly Bushmen - playing rousing frat rock, rollicking garage meets punkabilly songs. A fantastic mix of guitar-driven songs that invoke a 50s/60s vibe, all the while punctuated by incredible vintage organ work.

November is a month jam-packed with incredible live shows. So before you sit down for that turkey dinner, treat yourself to some quality live music, awesome cocktails, a hip and eclectic environment, and friendly staff. We’ll serve up a heaping spoonful of fun, and don’t worry, you’re allowed to have seconds.

This October was a devilishly good time here at Orbit 19! We had an amazing month of incredible shows and events. From celebrities rising from the grave, to pirates looting our booty, we had a great time. In case you missed it (silly goose), here’s what went down:

Friday, October 5

THEY LIVE! Well, for one night anyway. That’s right, all of your favorite celebrities who have shuffled off of this mortal coil will reappear for one night only. We’ve had awesome celebrity impersonation shows in the past, but with Halloween quickly approaching, we thought we’d put a little twist on it. So come on out and party with Marilyn, Jacko, and many more! It may be your last chance to rub elbows with these people before their elbows rot and fall off!

Also appearing will be Kings of Hell from Jacksonville, bringing their own brand of rockabilly fun. What could be better than that?

Friday, October 12

We are simultaneously excited, thankful, blessed, and freaking out that we are lucky enough to have one of the pioneers of Rockabilly grace our stage here at Orbit 19. Danny B. Harvey will be here! With more than 4 decades of experience under his belt, Danny will bring the house down – we guarantee it. He has played with music GIANTS such as members of the Stray Cats, Johnny Ramone, Wanda Jackson, and countless others, as well as touring with David Bowie, Hall and Oates, The Clash, The Go-Go’s, Flock of Seagulls and The Pretenders among many more. Needless to say, we’re a little pumped about this. You simply CAN NOT miss this show!

Also appearing will be Reltone Records’ Los Bastardos Magnificos. The Miami New Times sums them up pretty perfectly: “There were about 100 years between the Civil War and The Mariel Boatlift when Miami was more characterized by its Southern heritage than any worldliness. Those were the days when a cheek full of chewing tobacco, a banjo, and a jug of moonshine were the perfect remedy to a long day machete hacking through the rocky pinelands, palm trees, gators, snakes, and bobcats. You’d post up on a front porch somewheres, slug on copious amounts of blindingly strong liquor, and hoot and holler your way into the morning. Then you’d wake up and tough it through another day on one of the most vicious landscapes on the planet. That’s the type of music Los Bastardos Magnificos play.”

Yeah. Exactly.

Get here for this.

Saturday, October 27-

Avast ye mateys! It be the hour fer HorrorTrash Ten…X Marks th’ Spot! th’ BLACK HONKEYS will bury your booty on the dancefloor as the old sea dog DJ D-VOLV shivers ye timbers from the crow’s nest. $100 bar tab each for the scurviest pirate and wench. So splice the mainbrace and we’ll be gettin’ three sheets to the wind. Thar’ll be no hornswagglin’ or it be the hempen halter fer ye.
Yo Ho Ho!

Whoops. Sorry. Forgot to turn off the pirate-speak filter. We are once again celebrating Halloween the Orbir 19 way with the tenth installment of our HorrorTrash party!

Drink specials, a costume contest, the bar decorated to the nines (or tens this year), and the best staff on the planet – all the reasons to see you there!

Wednesday, October 31

Halloween night. You’ve tricked. You’ve treated. Now let us treat you to some tricks we have up our sleeve. DJ Lyndon will be here spinning, and we will have a whole goodie bag of drink specials as well as a costume contest. No need to walk from house to house to get a little sweetness in your tummy – just come on in and one of our talented members of staff can whip you up a little something to satisfy you.

October is a can’t miss month here at Orbit 19.

We know you like to party.

You know we bring the best entertainment and events on the planet.

Why don’t we join forces? It’s a match made in heaven, or well, you know… (evil smirk)

We’ll see you here at Orbit 19.

Awww, c’mon, baby – please don’t go. Don’t leave yet. We love you, Summer. We don’t want you to end. I mean, your sister, Autumn is cool and all, but she’s not you. You’re fun and relaxing; you’re bikinis and the beach and cocktails and beautiful sunsets. Wait just a bit, okay? Don’t go yet.

You see, we kinda have a crush on Summer. We don’t want it to end. So, in honor of our obsession, we introduce our 3-part series, The Endless Summer!

Friday, Sept. 7

Endless Summer Part I -

We kick off this first edition of our Endless Summer series with two fantastic acts from right here in Florida. The Florida Kilos roll into town with their signature blend of surf rock and pop. Armed with vintage guitars, amps, and drums, you’ll be transported to the surf-crazy days of yore. This three-piece act is relatively new to the scene, but have already made waves (get it!?!).

Also appearing is Orlando’s Alias Punch. Their sound has been described best as “a curious blend of ’60s garage and left-field ’80s post-punk,” and Creative Loafing said, “Quentin Tarantino would probably like Orlando’s Alias Punch. Their sound, an ample helping of fuzzed-out guitar tones wrapped in the cheeky badassery of a 1970′s-era B-movie, seems right at home in the background of some afroed-out she-ninja fight scene, western church massacre, or whatever other imagery would surely get Tarantino’s directorial rocks off.” Well, damn. That sounds like they’re right up our alley! And we’re willing to be you will love them, too.

All in all a great way to kick off the beginning of the end of summer!

Friday, Sept. 14

Endless Summer Part II -

For the second installment of our series, The Novarayscome into town from Orlando and bring their rocking style of garage/rockabilly. Go ahead, ask them what they sound like – you’ll get something like this in return: “Fender, Fender, Fender….Twangy, Reverby, Minor chordly, happy, beachy, drippy, cheesy, meaty, sweaty, romantic, rocking and then some. Astronauts, rednecks…Ave. A, Lil 5 points, Miracle Strip Amusment Park. To be continued…”. Well alright! I’m intrigued!

Also appearing will be Tidal Wave from Land O’ Lakes. A powerful group specializing in surf rock, these guys are going to fit right in here at orbit 19. The TBT has said, “Taking a cue from surf giants The Ventures, The Shadows and The Safaris, they’ve been causing a splash with their unique variation on the traditional form. They conjure a trance-inducing tone with parallel melodies that swim within a wash of silver reverb and primal drumbeats.” Sounds good!

Friday, Sept. 21

Endless Summer Part III -

So this is it. The last hurrah of the summer. But that’s okay, because we may have saved the best for last.

Orbit 19 welcomes Hollywood, Florida’s The Gun Hoes. This two-piece garage/surf/punk/psychedelic/rock group makes the room shake!

“…their surfy, garagey jams stand apart from the rest with their catchy, almost pop-structured hooks. It’s scuzzy stuff, true, but lighthearted at its core.” writes Monica Uszerowicz of New Times.

These guys will definitely send us out on a high note. No better way to close out the summer than with some great music, fantastic atmosphere, beautiful people, and the best drinks and bar staff anywhere!

Creative Loafing’s Best Of The Bay Award – Critic’s Pick: Best Nightlife In Tampa

We are humbled and honored to be awarded a CL BotB Award from the staff at Creative Loafing. Orbit 19 has been awarded the Best Nightlife in Pasco honor by the editors at Creative Loafing:

“What a pleasant surprise! A super clean club that doesn’t have Kenny Chesney blaring from the jukebox — in Pasco County! The décor includes the leg lamps from A Christmas Story, in keeping with the cool but quaint 1960s basement party atmosphere. DJ Jason Barco (also of The Castle) does Thursdays with a great mix of past and present alternative rock, and the live bands sound great despite the small stage-less space. Full bar, fantastic prices and an even-keeled crowd.” – Nastasya Trudeaux

Thank you to Creative Loafing, and thank you most of all to our loyal patrons and friends. You guys make all of this possible!

See you next month!

Well, here we are, still smack-dab in the middle of the smoldering, scorching summer. We need something to cool us off! Um, no thank you Missus Hurricane – we were thinking of something completely different. Thanks for the day off of work, though!

No, we were thinking something more along the lines of a nice, tall cocktail, slammin’ music, great atmosphere, and attractive people. What’s that? Oh you know the perfect place? Orbit 19 Lounge, you say? That’s crazy! We were just about to say the same thing! Because there’s no better place to escape the broiler of summer. So before you’re well-done and overcooked, stop on in this month where we always like it raw…

Friday, August 3

Newly arrived in Tampa (by way of South Africa, and all over the east coast) Zulu Wave arrives at Orbit 19 to bring their unique, eclectic blend of power, indie-pop that brings to mind Silversun pickups and Arcade Fire, just to name a few. But if you ask the band, they’ll tell you that the band “…plays music. Music that sounds like the moon crash landing in your swimming pool.” How about that, eh? Sounds like you’ll need to come check this out for yourself.

Joining them will be Sarasota’s own The Equines. Bringing a complex blend of power-pop and folk, The Equines have been described as “a little Stevie Nicks with a folky twist.” When frontwoman Erin Murphy’s Siouxsie-esque vocals combine with instrumentation like the xylophone, the combination harkens notions of the Vivian Girls or Blake Babies. And who’s manning those xylophones? Why, Mr. Greg Ferris, of course. But he will be very busy on this night, because he’s also performing with his critically-acclaimed side project - Cats In The Basement. A trippy and psychedelic rollercoaster of low-fi sensibility merged with new-age attitude, this is an act you won’t want to miss. Plus, they have a sax player. Who doesn’t like a little late-night sax?

Friday, August 17

Awwwwwwwwwwwww SNAP! Look who’s back! They absolutely rocked this place last time they were here, and left everyone asking for more. That’s right, boys and girls, your favorite showmen (showpeople?) are back: The Wooly Bushmen - playing rousing frat rock, rollicking garage meets punkabilly songs. A fantastic mix of guitar-driven songs that invoke a 50s/60s vibe, all the while punctuated by incredible vintage organ work. And they put on a helluva show! Ask anyone who was here for the incredi-doublebill with the Dex Romweber Duo!

But they’re not alone. No, no. This time, they will be appearing alongside Orlando’s Telethon. The band says they were created in order to “attempt to recreate and reinvent the era of psychedelic party jams and post-apunkalyptic art-folk that this world needs to save itself from total musical and cultural annihilation.” Hell yeah! Complete with animal headdresses, costumes, props, and plenty of sass, this group puts on a complete show. You do not want to skip this performance by frontman Mr. Telethon Cheeseburger and his rowdy band of misfits!

So, sure. You could stay inside all summer and watch the local weatherman continue to be wrong about EVERYTHING except his absurd name, or you could peel yourself off that sweaty, stained couch, and get your ass down here for some incredible music. Whether it’s our weekly lineup of awesome regulars like DJ D-Volv or Stick Martin with his Open Mic Night, there’s ALWAYS something for you here at Orbit 19. An incredible staff, quality spirits and cocktails using only the freshest ingredients, an atmosphere that nurtures relaxation and fun, and an amazing crowd of beautiful, interesting people. There’s only one thing missing – YOU!

Well, here we are – smack-dab in the middle of the summer heat. So come on in and get out of that heat. Stop on in where it’s always cool, if you know what we mean.

But while we maintain constant levels of coolness, our shows and events are always hot. Just like what we have this month. Check it out:

Friday, July 13th

The best way to start off the month is to welcome back one of our favorite acts.

Friday, July 20th

Alright! Here we go! Another incredible lineup from your friends here at Orbit 19!

First, we welcome in Luke Skywalker’s worst nightmare: Die Rebel Scum! These guys are a handful, and an absolute must-watch. Relatively new to the scene, these guys have already carved out a nice little niche locally. Here’s how they describe the history of the band: ” Die Rebel Scum was founded in late 2011. Initially, they were an all nude male review dance troupe. It wasn’t until the evil ‘Lo Down Dirty Boyz’ challenged the DRS boys to a dance off. Winner gets the city. Unfortunately, due to a technicality, our boys would not be victorious and were shunned from the Dover, Delaware town limits. Distraught and unsure about how to move on, they bought musical instruments and started a band. ”

Wow. Right? Whatever caused it, we know you’re going to enjoy their unique blend of punk and rock.

Joining them will be Boney Fiend. Described as ” The band that refuses to die,” They’ve been compared to a head-on collision involving the Misfits and the Ramones. They play an energetic mix of punk-influenced metal (or perhaps metal-influenced punk), and put on an incredible show!

So come on in out of that awful, sweltering heat and pull up a stool at the bar. Grab a cool cocktail from the best, friendliest, and knowledgeable staff anywhere! You’ll be glad you did. We’ll see you soon!

Summer is already here. It’s scalding hot outside, but as usual, it’s always cool in here at Orbit 19. We care about our patrons well-being, so we would be negligent if we didn’t insist that you come in out of the sweltering sun and settle in for a nice cool cocktail and a few laughs. While your here, you should check out this month’s lineup of live events.

Friday, June 8th -

So, you’ve always wanted to see Michael Jackson and Adam Lambert sharing the same stage? Well, you should probably talk to someone about that. But there is good news! Now you can!

That’s right, for one night only, you can experience some of the biggest names in showbusiness, all on one stage! You will see Michael Jackson, Liza Minnelli, Amy Winehouse, Gwen Stefani, Blondie, Madonna, Adam Lambert, & Courtney Love — all for your entertainment!

“Oh, Orbit 19,” you say, “how could you manage to pull this off? What sort of deal with the devil did you make to have this happen? Is it voodoo? Witchcraft?”

Well, while we occasionally like to dabble in the Dark Arts, not this time. No, what we have is A Night With The Stars! A fantastic collection of celebrity impersonators that put on an incredible, interactive live show! Be part of the fun! Sing along, dance, and experience the closest thing to the real thing. No cover!

Friday, May 15 -

On this Friday, Orbit 19 is proud to present two incredible music acts: The Mother Machine and Alias Punch.

Florida’s own The Mother Machine is self-described as ” an experimental, dreamy, psychedelic, rock band out of Orlando, Florida.

So in addition to our amazing regular events like Open Mic Mondays, RetroMod Thursdays, and Vinyl Lotion on Saturdays, you’ve also got these amazing events to look forward to. So come in out of the heat and cool off with the hippest and most knowledgeable staff, most beautiful people, and best cocktails in the Bay area! And if you have to wear your swimmies, well, we won’t mind…

Well, it’s time for our favorite month of the year. The month of May means that it is time to celebrate our anniversary, and this year will be our 9th!...

Well, it’s time for our favorite month of the year. The month of May means that it is time to celebrate our anniversary, and this year will be our 9th! We can’t wait to celebrate with you. So, we’ve lined up some of the best acts and musicians that have ever graced our stage. As a matter of fact, the lineup of talent is so packed and incredible, we had to have a party before the party! That’s right, in addition to our world-famous anniversary party that you’ve come to look forward to each year, we have decided to start the festivities a little early with a pre-anniversary party! Check it out:

Friday, May 11 -

Well, the simple fact is, we just couldn’t wait another week to party. So, we went out and got one of the hottest duos in the country to perform here at Orbit 19.

We welcome in The Dex Romweber Duo ,a dynamic combo that will get your feet stomping with the beat and your blood pumping with the excitement of music. Dex Romweber is an icon of the American music underground. He pioneered the template for the stripped to-the-essentials guitar/drums duo format made famous by such acts as The White Stripes. As a matter of fact, here’s what Jack White of The White Stripes says about the group:

“Dex Romweber was and is a huge influence on my music. I owned all of his records as a teenager, and was thrilled at the fact that we were able to play together recently on tour. His attitude towards music is remarkable. His songwriting, along with his love of classic American music from the south, be it rockabilly, country or R&B, is one of the best kept secrets of the rock n roll underground.”

High praise, right? We can’t wait to experience it for ourselves/

Joining them on this evening is The Wooly Bushmen - playing rousing frat rock, rollicking garage meets punkabilly songs. A fantastic mix of guitar-driven songs that invoke a 50s/60s vibe, all the while punctuated by incredible vintage organ work.

Also appearing will be burlesque superstars Vita DeVoid and Kissa Von Adams to bring a saucy, sexy element to the night’s festivities.

All of this incredible music and atmosphere absolutely free!

Friday, May 18 –

It’s finally here! The one night of the year everyone has come to look forward to: our annual Anniversary Party! We celebrate 9 years this year by bringing you one of the best lineups we’ve ever had at Orbit 19. In addition to incredible drink specials, tons of giveaways and prizes, and the coolest, hippest people, we also present this for your viewing and listening pleasure:

Appearing live, Miami’s The Jacuzzi Boys! These guys are one of the hottest up-and-coming acts in the nation right now! The Jacuzzi Boys are currently receiving tons of airplay on radio stations nationwide, and are featured in the Seth Rogen film 50/50. Spin magazine writes, “If these goofy Miami garage punks ever come to your town, be there with beer money. After a 2009 album, assorted seven-inch singles, and a recent live recording for Jack White’s Third Man imprint, Jacuzzi Boys have taken their place among the best sloppy racket-makers bashing out easy-boogie soundtracks to your next drunken night at the local rock dive. Led by singing guitarist Gabriel Alcala, the trio does little on its second album to reward closer, repeated listens. But between chugging good-climes opener “Vizcaya,” scrappily Led-en stomper “Zeppelin,” and spaced-out acoustic closer “Koo Koo With You,” you won’t be disappointed.”

Also appearing is Beach Day, one of our new favorite acts. Beach Day describes themselves as such: “We’re a three piece from Hollyweird, FL. We wrote some songs. Then we played them.” A bit of an understatement, as these three put on an incredible show. The kind of performance that instantly makes you realize there is something special here.

They will be joined by Tampa’s own surf rock threesome, Tidal Wave.

The live performances aren’t just limited to great music, though. once again Vita DeVoid is here, and this time she’s bringing with her seven of the hottest, sexiest burlesque dancers: Vita DeVoid, Shelly Darling, Gams Dee Vyne, Raven Lunatique, Nicole Spaulding, Kissa Von Addams, Candy Muldune, and Katye Silverfire! SEXINESS at it’s finest …

There are parties, and then there are great parties. We think you know what kind of night this is going to be.

We will see you there. Oh, and as usual, it’s absolutely free!

Friday, May 25 -

We know you like to party.

You know we bring the best entertainment and events on the planet.

Why don’t we join forces? It’s a match made in heaven.

We’ll see you here at Orbit 19.
